Is Pattaya, Thailand A Suitable Home For Families With Children?

With its stunning beaches, incredible food, and vibrant cultural tapestry, Pattaya, Thailand has long been a popular destination for tourists and expats alike. But, what about families with children? Is this Southeast Asian city a suitable place for them to call home? In this article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know…

It’s incredibly safe

The first thing to consider is the safety of your children. Although Pattaya does have some crime and the occasional incident (just like anywhere else in the world), it is generally a very safe place for children and families.

Excellent healthcare

Pattaya also has plenty of hospitals, dentists, and medical clinics available for care. There are some great public healthcare facilities available, but you’ll find the private institutions can provide a level of care comparable to most Western countries. All you need is a decent health insurance plan and you can relax in the knowledge that your family will be well cared for.

There’s so much to do

Pattaya also has a variety of family-friendly activities to enjoy. From zoos and water parks, to all manner of water sports and other outdoor activities, your children can stay entertained and active all-year round.

World-class international schools

If you have young children who are still in education, rest assured that there are also plenty of excellent schools to choose from, and some offer international curricula.

The standard of education in the top international schools is among the finest available and your children will never be lacking for choice when it comes to extracurricular activities.

Low cost of living

The cost of living in Pattaya is also relatively low, making it an attractive option for families on a budget. There are plenty of decent, affordable housing options (take The Cloud Pratumnak as the perfect example), and you can find quality food at reasonable prices on every street corner!

It’s a beach paradise after all

If you want all of the amenities of a big city whilst being able to take your children to the beach whenever you want to, you really cannot go wrong with Pattaya. Not many children get the chance to grow up in a tropical beach paradise, so we’d certainly recommend that you give it some serious thought when moving to Thailand.

Conclusion

Overall, Pattaya can be a great place for families with children. From safety and healthcare, to activities and affordability, this Southeast Asian city has so many wonderful advantages to offer. That said, it is important that you do your own research and visit the city before making a final decision to uproot your family and relocate.

The same applies with investing in real estate in Thailand. Take some time to familiarise yourself with the market and make sure that you work with a reputable real estate agent before making any final commitments.
