  1. Type Google Takeout on the Google search bar.
  2. If you’ve already logged in to Gmail, then it will provide you with a Download your Data option on the right side. Otherwise, login into the Gmail mailbox.
  3. Make a click on the Download your Data option, and it will list up all your Google data to download. Select the data as per your need and click the Next step.
  4. Following, choose a way to receive your data for download, the frequency to download your data, and lastly, choose file size and file type to download your Google data. Once done, click the create export button.
  5. Now Google takeout will start exporting your data. You will get notified once your export gets done.

So it is the process to export your Gmail emails into a local drive, but this doesn’t store Gmail data in PST format. Also, this can take up to hours or days to finish.

Outlook Import/export wizard

Might everyone be familiar with this utility. Basically, it’s an inbuilt utility of Outlook that allows importing/exporting data into/from Outlook. So the idea is we’ll first create an Outlook profile of Gmail mailbox and then utilize the import/export option to export Gmail emails to Outlook PST format.

Does the Native method is the last and best way for the Gmail export?
