ESIC UDC Job Profile
The job profile for anyone selected in the ESIC UDC exam will depend upon the posting and the designation. Here is a detailed analysis of the different job profiles and the responsibilities associated with them.
For selected candidates assigned to Headquarters/ Regional office/ Sub-Region Office
- Selected candidates are assigned work related to accounts
- They need to maintain files and draft letters as needed
- The selected candidate might have to process online data as part of the job
For selected candidates assigned to Branch Office (as a cashier)
- As the cashier, the selected candidate will need to perform bank-related work
- The responsibilities include maintaining a cashbook and issuing cheques
For selected candidates assigned to Branch Office (as non-cashier)
- The non-cashier personnel are needed to draft letters
- One of the primary tasks is to maintain and prepare monthly quarterly, and annual reports
- Candidates will need to maintain registers and prepare online payment dockets
- They will also have to upload different certificates
Salary
The ESIC UDC Salary scale at present was decided by the 7th pay commission. The details of the pay scale are described below. Besides the salary, the employees are also entitle to multiple perks and benefits. You will find out at a later point in this article.
- The basic pay for the selected candidates will be Rs 25,500 and the salary scale is that of Rs. 25,500-81,100/-
- Besides the salary, each employee is entitle to additional benefits. It is in the form of Transport Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowances (DA), Housing Renting Allowance (HRA), and other allowances.
Exam Pattern
Phase 1 Preliminary Examination
The first phase of the selection process involves the preliminary exam. This stage acts as the primary level of screening. The marks are used to finalize the list of candidates who will be allowed to appear in the next round. The grades are not considered while undergoing the final selection process.
In the preliminary exam, the categorization of questions is into four different parts. They are – quantitative aptitude, general awareness, English comprehension (verbal ability), intelligence, and general thinker (logical reasoning). The total number of questions is 100. Each correct answer fetched 2 marks, and incorrect answers deducted 0.25 from the score. There is no negative marking associated with unanswered questions. The test duration is 60 minutes (1 hour).
Phase 2 Main Examination
The candidates who successfully clear the cut-off score in the preliminary exam shall allowed to appear in the main exam. This is the second phase of the selection process. The categorization of questions into the same four sections as the preliminary exam. However, the total number of questions here is 200 with a total duration of 120 minutes (2 hours). For each correct answer, there is 1 mark and for each negative answer, there is a deduction of 0.25 marks. There are no negative marks for not answering a question.
Phase 3 Computer Skill
The final phase is a test of the candidate’s computer skills. There is no negative marking in this exam. The grades will not mention by them in the final list of successful candidates.
